One King's short of a Christmas carol

The 2021/22 season will see King’s College Hospital RFC develop a mutually beneficial relationship with Kings’ College London University Rugby sides.

Through the arrangement, KCHRFC will provide training and playing opportunities to students outside of university term time – and importantly, when they finish their studies.

The club will in turn benefit from an increased player pool for training and matches – and hopefully a pipeline of talent for the coming years.

KCH First team captain Ceri Thomas said:

“It’s great to give everyone more opportunities to play rugby – particularly after the last year.

“For lots of people, a local rugby club like ours is the first community they experience when they move to London. Hopefully through this relationship we can help some students bridge that experience and create a mutually beneficial relationship that gets more of us playing the game we love even more.”

King’s College London Rugby - President, Yaz Issa said:

"With the largest cohort of students joining King’s College London in a decade, this is a fantastic time to rebuild ties with King's College Hospital RFC. Both clubs have a lot to offer each other. Our boys have a wonderful chance both to expand their network of friends and colleagues, and to lean on the experience present in KCH - both on and off the pitch. By giving KCH a talented pool of young players to draw on at end of the day both clubs will have the opportunity to play more of this beautiful game."
