King’s Return Home Safely

SA2009
KCHRFC in Hermanus, South Africa

Over £11,000 in sponsorship raised… more than 467 children entertained in Hermanus… 32 Lions players sharing the same Hotel as us… 10 days of action packed adventure in South AfricaHH… 4 of the big 5 spotted… 2 trips to watch the British & Irish Lions play… 1 successful outcome… the tour of a lifetime

Well we’re back from what some of us will no doubt regard as the tour of a lifetime.  So many stories to tell and so many amazing highlights, the pinnacle of which has to of been the fun day in Hermanus with the Children who are supported by Starfish Greathearts Foundation although some may argue it was when we discovered we were staying in the same Pretoria hotel as the Lions’ players

We did Safari with 4 of the big 5.  We nearly drowned in the rains of Cape Town in what has to be the wettest and windiest conditions most of us have ever had to play Rugby in.  We Kangaroo-ed our courtroom over 3 different destinations and we downed our sorrows into the wee small hours with the Lions players

After two and a half years of planning it is evident we have a club to be proud of and one that can demonstrate that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it.  On the behalf of the club a big thank you to all the tourists for their impeccable behaviour on tour and also to Bruce Isdale, Antony Lindsay, Grant McDonald, Dieter Aretz, Colin Ross and Alex Perry without whom the tour would not have been half the success it was

Thanks
